600 Houses to be Built in our Parish

Vale of White Horse District Council's Local Plan Part 2

As concerned parishioners we must take positive steps now to oppose the inclusion of this most inappropriately proposed development which is annotated as an allocated (i.e. preferred) site in the draft version of Local Plan part 2 (LPP2) that is currently in circulation as a consultation document.

It is vital that every single household opposes the inclusion of the site, misleadingly, and wrongly, named "East of Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor." Once the LPP2 is adopted, then opposition to any development on an allocated site will fail.

LPP2 is an extension of Local Plan part 1 (LPP1) that was adopted in December 2016. It is a complex matter that has taken the Vale's planners some years to put together as each document relies heavily on a myriad of supporting evidence papers amounting to well over 1,000 pages of technical data and opinions, both objective and subjective, relating to more than 400 sites. We have been given just 8 weeks to respond (closing date:- 4th May 2017 at 5:00pm).

Your Parish Council has responded by submitting a document in opposition to the LPP2 - it can be downloaded here .

We have decided not to draft a standard letter format that all could reproduce, sign and send. Such mass identical mailings are simply grouped together and counted as just one single response.

Instead we list below some of the issues (in no particular order), that we consider relevant, about which concern can be expressed as grounds for opposition. All the documentation for both local plans (LPP1 and LPP2) plus all the supporting evidence papers can be found on the Vale's web site.

Here there is also a 'comment form' relating to LPP2 that can be used.
